WORLD YOUTH DAY IN ST. MARY’ S BASILICA
World Youth Day will take place in Poland from 20- 31 July in which young people from the whole world meet to share their faith, exchange experiences and pray together with Pope Francis. This year’s theme is Mercy.
What is taking place in St. Mary’s Basilica during World Youth Day?
• July 18-24 – Mercy Festival in St. Mary’s Basilica and the Main Square
• July 25-30- Power of the Sacraments – international Prayers in St. Mary’s Basilica
St. Mary’s Basilica is the co-organiser of the Mercy Festival which will take place on a large stage in the Main Square between 18-24 July just before the main events of the World Youth Day in Krakow.
The festival will incorporate retreats, concerts and evangelization. The best will be given to those thousands of young people from around the world who will arrive in the city:

Power of the Sacraments - Prayers during WYD
St. Mary’s Basilica will be the place for quiet contemplation, confession and prayer in various languages from 25- 30th July.
Mass in Polish and English will be celebrated all mornings (until 11 a.m.) and in the evening at 6.30 p.m.
Adoration groups from five continents will pray in front of the Wit Stwosz altar for almost 12 hours from 11.30 a.m. to midnight and will be joined by Youth 2000 and Youth Arise International.
Confession will be available in many languages throughout the day.
